Creating previews of your documents is vital to test them and make sure they're perfect before using them in real-life scenarios.

In DocsAutomator, you have two options for generating previews:

  1. Generating previews from the automation interface

  2. Setting your entire automation to preview mode

We recommend generating previews form the interface (1) to make sure you're happy with the design of your template and how it behaves. Apply preview mode to the entire automation (2) if you want to make sure that DocsAutomator integrates properly with your data source.

1. Generating previews from the automation interface

After having selected a data source and a template, you will see a preview area on the right side.

For Airtable and ClickUp, you will be able to map records or tasks from your selected base / table or space / list.

For all other integrations, you will see a mapping interface to map data to placeholders in your template.

2. Setting your entire automation to preview mode

In addition to generating previews straight from your interface, you can set the entire automation to "preview mode":

If you're generating documents with preview mode enabled, they will still have a watermark BUT also won't consume any of your document credits. This is perfect for testing document generation from your data source.
